In its ongoing commitment to advancing quality healthcare services, the Order of Malta Lebanon organized a dedicated workshop to present the “Policy Brief on Strengthening PHCCs in Lebanon,” a key initiative aimed at reinforcing the role and sustainability of Primary Healthcare Centers across the country.
The Policy Brief was developed with the support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), in partnership with Malteser International, and in collaboration with the GHTE Team. It examines critical areas for the development of the primary healthcare sector, including accreditation processes, the integration of climate-conscious practices, and the adoption of sustainable healthcare standards.
The workshop brought together key stakeholders from the health sector and highlighted the importance of continuous improvement in service delivery, governance, and environmental responsibility within Lebanon’s primary healthcare system.
During the event, Mrs. Lelia El Khazen Mallat, Managing Director of the Order of Malta Lebanon, emphasized the significance of institutional excellence, stating:
“We are proud of the Excellence status granted to our Community Health Centers’ accreditations. This success is a testament to the dedication of our teams and the support of our donors.”
Her remarks underscored the organization’s sustained efforts to uphold high-quality standards across its healthcare network and to ensure consistent, patient-centered services for communities in need.
From the Ministry of Public Health, Mrs. Randa Hamadeh, Director of the National Primary Healthcare Program, commended the ongoing work of the Order of Malta Lebanon, highlighting its dual role in maintaining excellence and serving as a model for other Primary Healthcare Centers across Lebanon.
This workshop reaffirmed a shared commitment among partners to strengthen Lebanon’s primary healthcare system through innovation, sustainability, and continuous quality improvement.
