The Order of Malta Lebanon had the honor of welcoming Mr. Jean-Bertrand Mothes, Director of the French Development Agency (AFD) in Lebanon, accompanied by Ms. Marion Dahan, newly appointed Humanitarian Advisor at the French Embassy, and Ms. Rouba El Khatib, Health Projects Manager at AFD, to its Ain El Remmaneh Community Health Center.
The visit was carried out alongside the Order’s partner, the Pierre Fabre Foundation, represented by Ms. Jacqueline Coulon. Together, the delegation toured the center, met with the Order of Malta Lebanon’s healthcare teams, and reviewed the progress of joint initiatives currently being implemented, including the Femme-Enfant and SOHA 2 projects.
Discussions focused on the impact and development of these programs, which aim to improve access to quality healthcare services for vulnerable populations, with a particular focus on women and children. The exchange also provided an opportunity to assess achievements to date and explore new avenues for strengthening cooperation in the health sector.
The visit reaffirmed a strong and strategic partnership between the Order of Malta Lebanon, the French Development Agency, the Pierre Fabre Foundation, and other key stakeholders committed to public health in Lebanon. It highlighted the shared determination to ensure equitable access to healthcare services, even in contexts marked by growing social and economic challenges.
Beyond the technical discussions, the encounter reflected a common vision: to offer vulnerable communities not only medical treatment, but also dignity, continuity of care, and a renewed sense of hope.
Together, these partnerships continue to contribute to building a more resilient and inclusive healthcare system, placing people at the center of every initiative.
