Strengthening Cooperation in Action: A Visit from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development
On his second visit to the Order of Malta Lebanon, Mr. Niels Annen, Parliamentary State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), accompanied by a delegation, visited the organization’s headquarters to gain further insight into its humanitarian operations across the country.
The delegation met with teams from various departments, taking the opportunity to engage directly with staff and witness their professionalism, dedication, and continued commitment to serving vulnerable communities across Lebanon. These exchanges highlighted the coordinated efforts that underpin the organization’s wide range of humanitarian and medical interventions.
A key moment of the visit was the meeting with the Mobile Community Kitchen team, who shared powerful firsthand testimonies from their field experience, particularly during the 2024 war period. Their accounts illustrated the challenges faced in delivering essential services during times of crisis, as well as the resilience and adaptability of teams working under difficult circumstances.
The delegation also connected with Malteser International, a long-standing partner of the Order of Malta Lebanon. This encounter further reinforced the importance of ongoing collaboration and shared commitment to providing essential humanitarian and development support to communities across Lebanon.
The visit served as an opportunity to deepen understanding of the realities on the ground and to reaffirm the strong partnership between the Order of Malta Lebanon, its international counterparts, and development partners such as BMZ.
