The Order of Malta Lebanon had the honor of receiving His Excellency Mr. Frank Mollen, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Lebanon, on an official field visit to its Community Health Center in Kefraya, implemented in collaboration with the Besançon Sisters, as well as to its Agro-Humanitarian Center in Kherbit Kanafar, in partnership with the Litani River Authority.
The visit provided an opportunity to present the scope and impact of the Order of Malta Lebanon’s integrated programs in the West Bekaa region, combining primary healthcare services, community-based support, and sustainable agricultural development initiatives aimed at strengthening resilience among vulnerable populations. His Excellency was briefed on the operational framework of the projects and engaged with field teams responsible for their daily implementation.
At the Community Health Center in Kefraya, His Excellency Mr. Frank Mollen was introduced to the center’s primary healthcare services delivered in close cooperation with local partners, including preventive care and essential medical support for the surrounding communities.
The delegation then proceeded to the Agro-Humanitarian Center in Kherbit Kanafar, where His Excellency was presented with ongoing sustainable agriculture initiatives, including the composting unit promoting eco-responsible practices and contributing to improved soil quality and enhanced agricultural sustainability.
The visit was held in the presence of Her Excellency Mrs. Maria Emerica Cortese, Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the Republic of Lebanon, and a delegation from the Embassy of Netherlands, further underscoring the importance of diplomatic and institutional cooperation in supporting humanitarian and development efforts in Lebanon.
This official engagement reaffirmed a shared commitment to advancing dignified, sustainable, and impact-oriented interventions that contribute to improved livelihoods and long-term resilience for communities across Lebanon.
